   III  001.      first and foremost, I have no ownership over lestat as a character or any of the source material he comes from! my own interpretation of him is mine, but it is only for entertainment purposes only!   III  002.      the content matter of the show and subsequently of this blog is RATED R / MATURE! please proceed with caution if you are sensitive to smut, gore, violence, cursing, animal or human death, bloody imagery, domestic abuse, or nudity. all will be present here whether in writing or imagery, and I am notoriously bad at remembering to tag things as triggering if they are not well known things like blood. MUSE DOES NOT EQUAL MUN! much of what lestat has done and will do is problematic as fuck. lestat is a manipulative abuser in a lot of situations, no matter how he rationalizes it or explains himself. the point of every perspective of this show is that they are all awful in their own ways. just because I write it fictitiously does not mean I approve of it. it is a duty we take on as role-players of anti-heroes and villains to portray them accurately and thus write their internal thoughts where they think they are correct! this does not erase the abuse nor does it equal my defense.   III  003.      any smut will only be written with muns over the age of 21.    •  SPINELESS IN MY TOMB OF SILENCE.      born during the reign of louis xv, lestat was the youngest of three sons, though his mother had given birth to four other boys and one girl -- none of whom survived childhood. his father was the marquis as well as a cruel, blind man. being the youngest, lestat had no inheritance to look forward to nor any marriage prospects.throughout his youth, lestat was subjected to a great deal of abuse at his father and brothers hands. beatings were frequent. starvation was a norm. he could not rely on his family in any sense of the word. at no point did he know if he was going to be fed or clothed or cared for. this is how he learned to endure.at the age of twelve, he started learning to read through studying the bible. in the monastery where he was taught, he decided he wanted to join as a brother and eventually become a priest. he memorized both testaments in his time at the monastery and found peace in christ.
his brother, augustin, and his father dismissed this and drug him away from the monastery, ending his education altogether. this event lead to the worst beatings of his human life. his father wanted him to suffer for his choice to seek out a new father and family in the monastery, and so they beat it from him. he was left alone for an unknown amount of days, starving and begging and bleeding on the cold ground of the family's locked shed. this was his first encounter with christ not answering his pleading cries for the torment to stop. he gave up his attempts at education and eventually became unable to recite the testaments as he'd learned.at sixteen, a band of traveling italian actors came through the village performing a play about two lovers : isabella and lelio. lestat loved the play and took on the male part by learning the lines through speech and repetition, as he could not read them. he decided to join the actors when they left, but his brother and father stopped this attempt as well.by twenty, he could still only read and write his own name and a few prayers. at thirty, lestat took on eight wolves, saving his town. through this, he meets nicolas de lenfent, a violinist. lestat's mother encourages his relationship with nicki and tells him to run away to paris together. so, they do just that. he gets a job in a theater in paris where he works as a backstage assistant while nicki plays the violin in the orchestra. the two of them share an apartment and one bed. he works in the theater for months before he is given the chance to perform -- immediately, the audience loves him. lestat grows even more popular with both the audiences and the critics who describe him as, "the blond-haired rogue who steals the hearts of the ladies in the third and fourth acts."everything is going well for him for about four years until he notices a man in the audience that is watching him far too intently. lestat is kidnapped by this man and finds out he is the vampire magnus. he is kept in a tower, surrounded by dead bodies that look very much like himself. he prays to god to no avail, just as he had as a child, leaving him devoid of any faith. he expects to die there of starvation or to be murdered at the vampire's hand, but is instead turned into magnus' only fledgling. right after, magnus throws himself into a fire, leaving lestat with no knowledge of his kind, but a vast wealth.lestat uses the money to buy the theater he performed at, renaming it the theatres des vampires. as well as shower his lover with gifts and money, allowing them to live in luxury together.  the theater has a purpose : he finds that seducing the crowd as a collective allows him to use the theater as a sort of protection by announcing their vampirism up front, letting them then feed in plain sight as if it was an elaborate play. people are fascinated by the concept, drawing in large crowds and making it easy for lestat to feed.while performing at his theater, he catches the eye of Armand, who encourages him to join the parisian coven underground in the sewers of paris. considering lestat has been living as a human would, he has no intention of living as a grub with the group of satanists. in retaliation, armand kidnaps nicki, forcing lestat to follow him back to the coven. lestat tells the coven that there is more to their nature than hiding in the sewers. half of the coven kills themselves, but the other half comes to the theater. even armand joins the theater to stay close to lestat.lestat takes nicki back with him and gives him the dark curse. nicki does not take well to the life of a vampire and is quickly driven insane by the fact that when he was turned, he was in a very dark, depressed state. he cannot escape that state now, frozen in time. lestat tries desperately to bring him back to life -- goes as far as having an affair with armand, hoping to make nicki jealous. he'd hoped it would make him want to live -- to have something to fight for. instead, nicki says he hates lestat for the gift and leaves, joining with armand in a coux. lestat leaves the theater to armand, though he refuses to join the coven, so he leaves Paris for some time. nicki goes so manic and crazed that he risks exposing the entire coven of paris, so armand locks him away and cuts off his hands to keep him from playing the violin in retaliation. soon after, nicki loses all sanity and throws himself into a bonfire. lestat will not come to know of this until some time later.in his grief, lestat flees to instead find a man armand mentioned in his origin story -- marius. for ten years, he is unable to locate the man. in desperation and grief over nicki, lestat buries himself alive for nearly a century. it is marius who finds him and feeds him his blood to help him quickly regain his strength. marius takes to him quickly as a sort of son figure -- he sees lestat as young and rebellious and in desperate need of guidance as a young vampire on his own. lestat has thus far not had a father figure, so he is more than eager to learn from him.. he teaches him about akasha and enkil ; about the ancient ones ; about the laws of vampirism. he shows him what happens to a vampire who does not feed -- shows him enkil and akasha, bound in stone like inanimate statues, even though they live. he is told these things so that he can be entrusted with making sure akasha and enkil do not rouse, as it would have disastrous ramifications on the world.he tells lestat that to be able to enjoy the vampire's lifespan and to appreciate the gift he has been given with immortality, given that lestat is only 46 years old at this point, if you exclude his hundred years sleeping. he must live a full mortal life with companions he loves. then and only then will he understand the purpose of this life. he says that lestat should hold on to his curious and 'live in the moment' attitude for as long as he can.when left alone for one night, lestat decides to go to akasha and enkil himself to try and wake them by playing the violin despite Marius' warning not to go into their sanctuary alone. to his surprise, lestat's plan works and akasha allows him to drink her blood as she drinks his until enkil rouses and attacks lestat in a jealous rage. before enkil crushes lestat to death, he is saved by marius who begs enkil for mercy and threatens to take akasha away from him if he doesn't stop.lestat has to leave at this point, given he is a threat to enkil. he decides to go to America to try and find that life marius told him to make for himself. this is where he decides to stay in new orleans -- THIS LEADS HIM TO MEET LOUIS DU POINTE DU LAC AND START THEIR LIFE TOGETHER AS HE SEEKS OUT HIS IMMORTAL COMPANION.  • I CAN DO IT WITH A BROKEN HEART.   [post-canon ; will change as season 3 is released.] lestat spends decades alone -- mostly. in those seventy years without louis and claudia, his mind plays awful tricks on him. he sees them -- hears them -- clear as day ; so real that at first he thinks they've come for him in real life. but they are just tricks of the mind that show his true vulnerability. for decades on end, these hallucinations bark hatred and threats to his life. claudia is constantly in his personal space, but Louis will not come near him -- that is the worst part ; even if he is spewing vile things, lestat still wishes for his nearness. he grows used to them -- finds their hatred of him well founded and deserved . it deteriorates him until he can do nothing but listen to music and feed off rats alone in a room. he makes a single fledgling to go and use his wealth, as well as bring him rats so that he doesn't have to leave his isolation.after seventy years alone in louisiana , lestat is reunited with louis after armand's lies are revealed. he finds this reality difficult to comprehend, given his many years alone with the voice of Louis doing nothing but harassing him and promising death. now friends once more, lestat is determined to once more endure the agony he feels inside. he does not like himself very much anymore, but he has always thrived off of the public's attention. given louis' exposure of their secrets and lives, he decides to double down and become a rockstar with the sole purpose of drawing out the vampire world from it's shadows. he has no interest in hiding his nature for their benefit. if they are coming after louis, they will have to take them both. they will die as a family this time.once more at home on the stage, lestat finds himself more and more out of his mind. loneliness has done numbers on his psyche. he likes to stir up trouble online, often found following trends [poorly] and picking fights with other influencers. his team of lawyers and publicists are never lacking for things to do. he develops a very distinct persona that is loud, vibrant, chaotic, and overtly sexual for the crowd. he has zero intention of hiding his vampirism, even if the public is split on whether or not he's lying. he throws wild, exclusive parties where people can smoke, drink, and fuck to their hearts content. it becomes his primary source of fun -- but only in the way that he gets high himself through the prey he picks off at these parties ; primarily groupies. seems they've developed a bit of a cult -- to be chosen to be drained dry by the vampire lestat is an honor, not a horror. he still finds only the worst of them to drink from -- those who think the version of him portrayed in Louis' memoir is the real him ; the monster who can relate to them.in terms of dating and sex, lestat has refrained from both since claudia's death. he has no intention of finding another family. he simply seeks to expose the vampire world, feeling no allegiance to anyone but his Louis.

   III  CANON 001.      SET WHEN LESTAT IS A HUMAN BOY, UNDER 21 YEARS OLD. a poor boy in a poor village, with no prospects for the future and no education.   III  CANON 002.      SET DURING HIS HUMAN YEARS WITH NICKI IN PARIS -- AGES 21-34. he is an actor, making his way in a loft apartment with nicki. there is happiness here.   III  CANON 003.      SET IN THE VAMPIRE YEARS BEFORE NICKI'S DEATH -- roughly 2 years.   III  CANON 004.      100 YEARS LATER, 1910. lestat meets louis.  III CANON 005.   7 YEARS LATER , 1917. claudia is made.  III CANON 006.   22 YEARS LATER , 1939. claudia tries to leave.  III CANON 007.   6 YEARS LATER , 1945. louis and claudia 'kill' lestat and run to paris. lestat takes months to heal, then goes home to try and grieve alone.  III CANON 008.   4 YEARS LATER , 1949. lestat is called to paris through armand's plan to kill louis and claudia. he is told the details because it is assumed he will willingly testify against them because of the murder attempt. he agrees to go through with the play only so that he may use his powers to save louis. he is unable to save claudia. he returns home without either of them to live in grief.  III CANON 009.   24 YEARS LATER , 1973. armand reaches out to lestat telepathically, telling him louis is alive but injured. he refuses to tell louis that lestat says he loves him, or to explain why louis is injured.  III CANON 010.   51 YEARS LATER , 2024. lestat spends 51 years thinking louis is dead, too. he is haunted by claudia, to the point where he is not sure if she's actually a ghost or just his own mind. louis arrives back in new orleans and the two are reunited as friends, sharing their grief.  III TENATIVE CANON 011.   2025+ lestat becomes "the vampire lestat," a rockstar that loudly tells the world of his vampirism alongside louis' exposure of the vampire world.
